The F+F School of Art and Mediadesign is a private art institution founded in 1971 in Zurich. Before 1971, the class called "F+F" was the name of the fine art department of the the School of Art and Design Zurich, HGKZ. After a dispute about the aims and purposes of this class, a handfull of teachers decided to separate from the hgkz to found their own institution. In the years to come, the institution "F+F" grew bigger and added new departments, such as the film and graphic design department. Since 2004, the school is located in a new building which provides enough space for all departments under one roof for the first time. In this year they also decided to produce new means of communication. What before was a photocopied spiral-bound booklet in A5, that was thought for internal use only, became a bi-annual newspaper in a print run of 5000, showcasing both teachers and students work as well as giving an overview of the programs offerings of the school.
